All prints must be submitted in a print case unless they are hand delivered to Longview on the 6th. Cardboard boxes will be accepted if hand delivered to LCC and neatly packed with all appropriate paperwork.

Active, Professional and Friends of the PPA-GKC members who are in good standing in the organization are eligible to participate. Good standing shall mean that dues are paid, in full, by September 15th of the current fiscal year and shall have attended at least three of the first five meetings of the current fiscal year. Fiscal year meetings begin with the September meeting.
A Non-Member is any entrant not described in paragraph A.
Submission of prints of albums automatically indicates the entrants consent to the following print rules. The PPA-GKC and their agents will use all reasonable care in handling prints and albums, but will not be responsible for loss or damage, nor failure to exhibit prints for any reason.
All decisions of the print committee and jury chairperson will be considered final.
A total of six entries may be entered for awards. The six entries may not include more than one album. Otherwise, the prints may be entered in the same of different categories. “Score only” entries may also be included in the six entries. Any additional entries will be for “Score Only”. “Score only” entries must be marked on the back of the prints as “Score Only.” For awards, no more than one of the same subjects may be entered. Additional images of the same subject may be entered as “Score Only”.
Non-Master prints must be permanently mounted on standard mount board material (e.g. 3x mat board, gator board, ¼” foam or sintra.) No masonite, glass, stretcher or conventional frames are allowed. Images of any shape and size are allowed and must be mounted on 16x20 mount board (recommended mounting thickness is 1/8” to 3/8”). No titles of maker’s names shall appear on the face of the entry. Suggestion: To prevent damage to your prints, use release paper of foam sheets between your prints when packing your case.
Master photographers may enter images of and shape and size on a mount board, a minimum of 80 square inches to a maximum of 480 square inches, with the largest dimension no longer than 24”.
Color Transparencies must be masked and mounted on a 12”x12” black mat with the area to be viewed no smaller than 1-5/8” x 2-1/4’.
Entries that have received awards at PPA-GKC and prints that have received the “Seal of Approval” are not eligible for awards, but may be entered for score only. If a print was entered in a previous year for “Score Only,” it may be re-entered this year as a “for score” print and will be eligible for awards.
All entries must be titled.
The entree label must be affixed to the back of each print and properly filled out. Please Print. Attach label the back of the entry two inches from the TOP as you wish it to be judged.
Entrant must have captured and created the original exposure.
No entry will be eligible that has been made under the supervision of an instructor or as a class assignment.
No material may be added to the front or back of an entry that may damage another entry.
Print cases must include a CD with each “For Score” image. Print CD's must be separate from Album CD's. All images should be saved in a JPG file format, quality 10 or higher, in an sRGB color space and named as follows. Use the entries TITLE, preceded by the number and a space (1-6 ), which corresponds with the entries position on your entry form. (No punctuation). For example…if the first print listed on your entry form is “Headin’ Home”, and the second print on the form is “Get Back, Jack” the corresponding images on the CD should be titled, “1 Headin Home.jpg” and “2 Get Back Jack.jpg”

Commercial consists of Commercial and Industrial entries. If a tear sheet is included, enclose it in an envelope attached to the back, top, and center of the entry.
Photographic Open will consist of Portrait, Illustrative, Wedding, and Album entries.
Prints will be divided into categories for the purpose of selecting Awards. Please mark Categories. Portrait- Images of people (may include wedding images) and Pets. Illustrative- May be images of people or pets, nature of inanimate objects. Wedding- Bridal images, bridal portraits and wedding images. Album- albums must consist of images from the same event.
Entry forms should also be marked for the additional PPA GKC categories of Man, Woman, Child, Couple, Group, Pet or Animal, and Black and White (Monochromatic) Print, more than one of these categories may apply.
Album entries may be submitted as either a traditional album or as a CD album.
Album cover may not exceed 400 square inches.
No multiple volume albums are allowed.
Any studio identification or entrant’s name in the album must be covered.
CD Format Album Entry (these are PPA Rules form 06 Please check before using for nationals for 2007)
Viewable Canvas Size: 1024x768 pixels, horizontal format which hereafter will be referred to as Page. The viewable canvas size a.k.a. page may represent a single album page of a spread. You may design each page with as many or as few images as you desire.
File Format: jpg, Color Space: sRGB, Gamma: 2.2
Quantity of pages (single album page of spread); not to exceed 70.
Identify pages sequentially in the order you wish them to be viewed, using the 3-digit numerical sequence shown here. Example: 001.jpg, 002.jpg, 003.jpg, etc.
All pages of 1 (one) album must be in 1 (one) folder, identified with the entry title, and entrant/s name written on 1 (one) CD.
Limit: 1 (one) album entry per CD.
Single-Maker Entries
Images in the album must be the work of the entrant. No other photographer’s images are allowed.
Each participating entrant must pay the appropriate entry fee.
Each CD or album must have and entry label with the names of each entrant.
Images in the album must be the work of the entrants, with a minimum of 20 images per entrant.
Multi-maker albums will be judged as one entry.
Please check with PPA National Rules to be sure you comply if you plan to send your entries to an affiliated judging or National for merits. National merits are not given on a local level.
Entrants must certify that he/she has personally originated the concept behind each entry and that he/she has created, composed and made original exposures and that the processing, printing and special effects were done under his/her direction. No photograph of album will be accepted that has been made under the supervision of an instructor or as a class assignment.
Any entry that does not comply with the rules will not be accepted for awards.
Entries must be received at Longview Community College On Saturday, February 6th at 1:00pm.
